People received care that was responsive to their needs and took into account their preferences and supported their independence. A range of activity and stimulation was provided both to people within groups and also individually. People told us they felt confident to raise anything that concerned them with staff or management. During the inspection we observed staff supporting people who used the service, we spoke with nine people who used the service, three people’s relatives, five members of staff, the manager and regional manager for the provider. Individuals that have been diagnosed with dementia and are no longer able to live independently at home due to requiring specialist 24-hour care services.
Although I have not directly come from a care background, I spent many years supporting my Grandmother who was living with dementia. Being able to do this for her and watching her thrive gave me a sense of fulfilment and has made me the strong individual I am today. The castle hotel is of course located in the little town of Kronberg, or Kronberg im Taunus to give it its full title, which is, castle notwithstanding, a lovely day out from Frankfurt in its own right. It is a famous spa town, with many to choose from, and has an equally famous medieval fortress guarding the town as well as some very pretty public gardens surrounding it.
